CHASE FIELD  (capacity 49,033), Original Name -- Bank One Ballpark

Phoenix, Arizona

Park opened March 1998.  This ballpark has a retractable roof to protect fans against the heat and monsoon type showers of the Phoenix summers.  Chase Field is the second-highest facility in the majors at 1,100 feet above sea level.  It has a natural grass surface and sports a swimming pool in right-centerfield.  Randy Johnson recorded his 4000th strikeout here on 6-29-2004.
