U.S. CELLULAR FIELD
(capacity 40,615)
Original Name --
Comiskey Park II
Chicago, Illinois
Park opened April 1991.
This was the last ballpark built before the recent wave of rero-classic
stadiums. Renovations that
started in 2001 were to help make the park more fan-friendly, and less
sterile. In 2005 the White
Sox captured their first World Series title since 1917.
Mark Buehrle pitched the parks first no-hitter on 4-18-2007
against Texas and White Sox slugger Jim Thome hit his 500th
career home run on 9-16-2007.
